PART-TIME SEASONAL PROJECT EMPLOYEE - MOWING
The Rural Municipality of Lajord No. 128 is accepting applications for a Part Time Seasonal Project Employee - Mowing with duties commencing on June 15, 2026 and ending upon the completion of all mowing activities for the season. This position is weather dependent, the employee will only be scheduled when conditions allow for mowing. In the event of rain or other unsuitable weather, the employee will not be required to attend work.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operations of municipal mowing equipment and assisting with maintenance duties throughout the season.
The duties and responsibilities of this position include the following:
- Operate municipal equipment such as tractors and mowers;
- Perform general service, maintenance, and minor repairs on the equipment;
- Ensure all equipment is operated safely and responsibly.
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge and experience in operating and maintaining heavy equipment;
- Ability to check, lubricate, fuel and clean equipment;
- Perform pre-operational equipment checks;
- Work effectively unsupervised and as part of a team;
- Be safety minded;
- Good interpersonal and communication skills;
- Strong organizational and documentation abilities;
- Keep work areas clean and safe.
Applicants must:
- Possesses a Powered Mobile Equipment (PME) certificate or willing obtain one;
- Have safety certification or be wiling to obtain it;
- Hold a valid Class G drivers license
- Able to lift up to 50lbs
- Willingness to take direction and work under the supervision of the Manager of Public Works.
Salary will be negotiated based on experience and qualifications. The RM offers comprehensive health and dental benefits, pension plan included. The successful applicant will be required to join Teamsters Local Union No. 395 as an employee with the RM.
