PUBLIC WORKS OPERATOR – HAMLET OF KRONAU – JOB POSTING

The Public Works Operator is a position that will report directly to the Hamlet Board of Kronau.  The operator will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and construction of hamlet municipal infrastructure, including but not limited to roads, sewage systems and facilities.  The operator will be expected to perform various duties, such as but not limited to, manual labour, general maintenance and repairs, operation of various hand tools and equipment including heavy machinery (example road boss etc.). 

The role requires a combination of technical skills, mechanical aptitude and a commitment to safety and community service.  This position will also supervise contractors as well as summer students.  

Ideally the candidate would have a minimum grade 12 education, valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver’s license, WHIMIS training and first aid/CPR certificates.  Experience with operating and maintenance of equipment would be an asset.

Proven experience and/or knowledge of public works operations including but not limited to road maintenance, facilities maintenance, small tools, and heavy equipment is desirable.  Availability to work outside of standard hours including evenings, weekends and holidays as required by emergency situations if necessary.
